How would you describe your job in 3 words?
Diverse, at times Challenging, Rewarding
What is your day-to-day in your role?
Every day is different but anything from getting involved in the day-to-day running of our Groupage services to trailers planning, forwarding freight and supporting the rest of my team in their roles. I love the diversity – one thing you can always say about sector is it’s never boring!
What is your favourite part of your role?
The people I work with, we’re a close-knit team, they’re hard working and we strive to get the most out of each day whilst trying to make it enjoyable.
We also have lovely customers who make it a pleasure to do what I do. and the sense of satisfaction is great.
What led you to your current role?
I just sort of fell into Freight but as I’ve progressed in skill-set and knowledge I grew to love it. Freight is one of the industries that didn’t shut down during the pandemic and I am quite proud that our industry as a whole [and is] paramount to keeping the country going, no matter what else is going on 0 we have some brilliant people at Delamode and those people only fuel you to better yourself and ‘level up’ so to speak.
Who is your biggest inspiration?
My Mom, she always taught me to work hard as nothing comes for free, she instilled some very good life lessons that have stuck with me for sure.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
A nice glass of red and good food, spending time with my partner and family, and seeing the world – travelling is a big love.
Where is your end goal for your career?
I can’t see an ‘end goal’ currently, that feels so final to think about. I am passionate about imparting my knowledge onto others, developing my own skills further and I would love to progress as it happens naturally.
